Indonesia Java International Destination – West Java – Mount Tangkuban Perahu

Mount Tangkuban Perahu situated in the West Java is one of the popular Indonesia Java International Destination. This is a volcano which is located at a distance of 25 km from the city of Bandung in the northern part. This mountain can be observed as situated between the Sagalaherang Village in Sagaleharang district of Subang regency and Cikole village of Lembang district in the Bandung regency. Mount Tangkuban Perahu, an Indonesia Java International Destination is considered as the popular tourist volcano spot of Bandung regency. The scenery in this mountain and the forest around its slopes or the huge crater all of this are definite attractions for tourists. This place assumes the shape of an upside down view if it is viewed from the Bandung regency. The literal meaning of the word Tangkuban Perahu is indeed “up-turned boat”. Due to its distinct shape it has been popular for many years and even mentioned in ancient literatures. The role of this region in the development of the Parahyangam highlands is significant. The eruptions from this mountain have contributed a lot to the hills of the Bandung region hardening the rock and have helped in formation of big cliffs over which waterfalls leap. This mountain consists of three numbers of craters namely Kawah Domas also called as Domas Crater, Kawah Upas called as Upas Crater and Kawah Ratu called as Queen Crater. Tourists can visit all these three caters and enjoy the scenery.
